Subsalt imaging results derived from using Q-Technology deliver an unparalleled breakthrough in signal-to-noise ratio, revealing previously unseen structural images beneath salt.

Extensive Integrated Project Design (IPD) processes were applied to Q-Marine technology and we have subsequently developed an integrated acquisition and processing technique that draws upon the unique single-sensor technology, frequency range, streamer positioning, and noise processing capabilities of the Q-Marine system.

The Q-Marine system response and acquisition capabilities provide the only available means to meet and maintain the modeled IPD parameters within severe in-field tolerance levels. Further, during processing, the integrated technique is able to attenuate noise and correctly sample the signal to reconstruct the wavefield through wave-equation imaging.

WesternGeco has conducted comprehensive Q-Marine acquisition tests to image beneath salt in the Gulf of Mexico. This solution is now available commercially.
