MMRD - Multi-Measurement Reservoir Definition
A single integrated environment for seismically driven reservoir solutions

MMRD provides a PC-based geoscience analysis system that bridges the gap between the geophysical and reservoir modeling domains and enables a seamless inverse and forward workflow - taking seismic data from the data processing space through borehole calibration, inversion, and rock property analysis to the geological and reservoir model building space. MMRD closes the loop, such that seismic data and the reservoir become intrinsically linked.

Historically, Reservoir Geoscientists have depended on numerous standalone, unconnected applications to interpret and quantify the reservoir properties using seismic. MMRD brings together such systems into a single, common, Windows environment built on the Ocean framework.

MMRD enables seismic data, borehole measurements and reservoir models to be analyzed, processed and interpreted simultaneously and iteratively. It provides a broad suite of interconnected geoscience tools that covers widespread functionality for AVO/AVA, pre- and post-stack inversion, well log analysis, rock physics modeling and 4D interpretation.

Linking directly into the OMEGA2 system - MMRD is used to express seismic data in terms of rock and fluid properties for land, marine, transition zone and multicomponent 3D or 4D surveys. Also connected to Petrel and Eclipse, MMRD characterizes both carbonate and clastic geology and describes oil, gas or condensate reservoirs. MMRD provides broad flexibility; structured as a modular system it enables workflows to be tailored to meet specific reservoir needs.

MMRD, a flexible, integrated and multi-functional geoscience system delivers:

  • Deliverability - faster turn-around-time, rapid integration, frequent iterations
  • Availability - widespread use of specialist technology, global deployment
  • Service Quality - greater QC, wider cross-referencing, lower data transfer error rate
  • New Technology - rapid take-up from R&E, reservoir-tailored workflows, unique functionality
  • Collaboration - multi-disciplinary environment, multi-project, asset service team access
  • The MMRD system is currently deployed throughout WesternGeco and is playing a key role in providing reservoir-centric solutions and seismic-driven production services.
