OMEGA2 is an evolution of the WesternGeco OMEGA seismic processing system, and provides a step-change in geophysical functionality and user efficiency.
OMEGA2 was designed to benefit the processing geophysicist in several key areas. These included the ability to manage complete processing workflows, the incorporation of interactive processing tools, seamless integration with interpretation systems, and the active extension of seismic processing into the reservoir domain - while also providing a clear improvement in turnaround for all projects.
However OMEGA2 also preserves all the geophysical integrity and depth of OMEGA by maintaining full backward compatibility with its predecessor. It forms a fully scalable system, capable of servicing a single or hundreds of users - running on a laptop or across many thousands of compute nodes.
OMEGA2 provides all the necessary tools and processes to efficiently and accurately process land, marine, transition zone and multicomponent 2D, 3D or 4D seismic data in either time or depth domains. It provides the infrastructure to support the majority of our seismic processing technology portfolio, and many components of the Ω-Suite and Q-Xpress for Q-Marine and Q-Land.
